Late winter / early spring is when the trout bite really gets going. Late spring kicks off bass season, which can be excellent for both numbers and size. To maintain the lake's high-quality fishing, there's a widely endorsed informal agreement among anglers to release larger catches back into the water.
The boating season at Coyote Lake is open from mid-April to mid-October. However, low water levels may force the county to temporarily close the boat ramp, so be sure to stay informed on current conditions. And, while the lake is officially closed to boating in the colder months, anglers can still find success targeting trout from shore.
