CDFW added another trout plant this week, and rising water temps have bass pushing shallow and feeding more aggressively as they begin their spawn. Dark-colored Senkos, craw-pattern crankbaits, and T-rigged creature baits are pulling 1–2 pound fish around wood and shallow brush in 5-10 feet of water. The trout bite has been hit or miss lately, but this latest stock should fire things back up.

There have been no trout stockings since last spring, but they should start again in another month or so. Quietly, Sandy Wool has produced some nice bass over the last month, including a 4-pounder and a 5-pounder. Senkos, swimbaits, and spinnerbaits are all getting attention. With water temps cooling, the bass bite should only get better.
