Good Bass bite
Trout, Bass, Striped Bass
69°F Slightly Stained

The last trout stock was in late March, but they are still biting, and the pattern remains similar to our last report. Bright-colored jigs or microgrubs bounced along any rock or hard bottom are still getting their share of fish. Otherwise, it's all about soaking bait... Powerbait and floating nightcrawlers. Water temps are still in the high 60s...

Bright-colored jigs or microgrubs bounced along any rock or hard bottom are still getting their share of fish. Otherwise, it's all about soaking bait... Powerbait and floating nightcrawlers. Water temps are still in the high 60s low 70s... but once they hit mid 70s, look for trout bite to turn off completely.

The bass action has been good, but mostly for fish in the 1–2 pound range. The spawn is mostly over, although there are a few fish still in the shallows protecting their fry. These fish will crush a weightless Senko. Otherwise, dropshotting has been the best... just make sure your soft plastic is riding high enough to stay above the grass line.

The striper action has been quite good as well. A giant 14-pounder was reportedly caught in Cleghorn Canyon last week. Guys are landing fish either soaking sardines or trolling big jerkbaits.

Water levels are still quite low at Silverwood, but temperatures have jumped into the mid 60s. Bass have moved shallow and are beginning spawn behavior... either bedding already, or cruising just on the outside of these bedding zones. Big swimbait and glide baits have been reportedly getting quality fish in the 4-5 pound range. Otherwise it's...

Bass have moved shallow and are beginning spawn behavior... either bedding already, or cruising just on the outside of these bedding zones. Big swimbait and glide baits have been reportedly getting quality fish in the 4-5 pound range. Otherwise it's mostly 1-2 pounders on soft plastics and smaller blade baits.

Striper action has remained good since our last report, with the same approach working... fly-core trollers running streamers are getting some nice fish in the 5-8 pound range.

Trout guys are still catching fish. Bright color mini jigs bounced off rocky areas and hard bottom are triggering some explosive strikes. Powerbait soakers are still pulling fish in deeper spots.

Excellent Striped Bass bite
Trout, Bass, Striped Bass
55°F Slightly Stained

With water temps holding in the mid 50s, the multi-species bite at Silverwood Lake has been firing. Bass anglers are doing well working heavy dropshots around rocky zones and sharper drop-offs in 30–40 feet. Others are dragging heavy chatterbaits tight to the bottom along similar structure, keeping constant contact and triggering reaction bites...

With water temps holding in the mid 50s, the multi-species bite at Silverwood Lake has been firing. Bass anglers are doing well working heavy dropshots around rocky zones and sharper drop-offs in 30–40 feet. Others are dragging heavy chatterbaits tight to the bottom along similar structure, keeping constant contact and triggering reaction bites from fish sitting low. Average fish has been in the 2-4 pound range.

Stripers have been very active for flycore trollers pulling streamers around 2 mph, especially when adding sporadic small twitches during the troll. Shore anglers are still picking up smaller stripers soaking anchovies, but the better quality fish are coming from the troll bite.

Trout action has also been consistent following a mid-January stock from the CA Dept of Water Resources. Shore anglers are finding fish on PowerBait, while boat guys are hitting good morning action on bright-colored mini jigs.
