Jackson Meadow Reservoir, situated at 6,200 feet in the Sierra Nevada, offers a fishery for both rainbow and brown trout. The reservoir serves as a base for exploring the surrounding mountain region. It features forests, meadows, and granite landscapes, and The Pacific Crest Trail trailhead is located nearby along the access road.

Facilities include several campgrounds, including a boat-in option, picnic areas, drinking water, toilets, and two paved boat ramps. Supplies can be found in Truckee and Sierraville.

East of Jackson Point, shore anglers have reported good action for rainbow trout. Casting spinners and letting night crawlers or Powerbait soak have both consistently yielded fish.
