Pinecrest primarily features rainbow and brown trout. The rainbows are stocked yearly by the CDFW and provide consistent action that is better than most lakes in the area. While boaters often find the most success by trolling, campers and shore anglers also get action soaking power bait and live worms. Rainbows are your typical stocker size, while brown trout can grow much bigger. Most brown trout will hit a trolling setup or spinner, often during low-light conditions.
Pinecrest offers a variety of amenities, including campgrounds, a fishing pier, a marina, and boat rentals. Pinecrest Lake Resort also offers a small store, so last-minute supplies are always available.
A 20mph speed limit and water skiing restrictions keep Pinecrest peaceful enough to fish without disturbances.
