Pinecrest Lake Fishing Report

Pinecrest has received a CDFW trout stock every week since the end of April... and they have been biting. Trollers are toplining orange or pink spoons 1.5-1.8 mph hooking into plenty of rainbows with the occasional bigger holdover or Kokanee mixed in. Casters are using bright colored tubes with similar success... drifting in the wind near points and rocky structure. The water temp is right in the low-to-mid 50s, so fish are suspended... not holding near the bottom yet (more in the summer months). So if you are casting Powerbait or floated night crawlers, make sure your leader is long... 5+ feet.
