Fishing reports for Camanche Reservoir

Camanche was stocked with a hefty 3,500 pounds of trout (3,000 rainbow, 500 lightning) on May 2, and looks to be the final plant of the season. Both trollers and shore-casters are getting plenty of action... spoon-type lures for trollers, Powerbait, mice tails & night crawlers from shore.

A couple of double-digit bass were reported as of late. Most fish are shallow and still in spawn mode. The bigger females are holding a bit deeper.

Today, Camanche also stocked 4,000 fingerling Florida strain largemouth bass, supporting their healthy bass population into the future.

Camanche received another massive Lassen trout plant in early April, and fishing has continued to be elite. Trollers are still getting the most action on the main lake, mainly on Rapalas and spoon-type lures. Bank casters are taking advantage of the trout plant at South Pond.

Beautiful weather and water temps are warming. Here comes the bass. Plenty of fish moving shallow getting ready to spawn. Both finesse and reaction lures are catching'em... so go ahead and experiment.

Trollers are finding plenty of action with recent large trout stockings (Lassen and Lightning trout). Kastmasters and Rapalas trolled within the top 15-20 feet of the water column have reportedly yielded solid limits. Bass fishing is still slow but seems to be picking up... finesse offshore or reaction baits shallow.
