Bass fishing at Success has been good, but not excellent. Finesse setups like drop-shots with natural-colored soft-plastics and light jigs are delivering good numbers, but not much size. Senkos are producing consistently as well. Crankbaits and topwater are working well at times, typically in the mornings. On the catfish front, anglers are having the most luck on the North Fork with cut bait, while crappie action has been slow.
Bass are moving out of the shallows and either holding near rocky points, or chasing shad. Senkos and drop-shotting remain the best approach when targeting these points. Try swimbaits or jerkbaits for bass focusing on shad schools. Catfish action in the evenings remains very good, and anglers are still finding crappie near submerged structure.
