Early bait movement is driving most of the action at Success, with balls of shad pulling bass up into the submerged trees during the first and last hour of light. Crankbaits, underspins, and walking baits are all working well during that window. Surface temps are holding in the low 80s, and with triple-digit air temps pushing mid-day, deep water and shaded cover are key once the sun peaks. Focus on main lake points and isolated rockpiles, with slower presentations like small jigs, dropshots, or ned rigs.
Crappie are sticking to deeper structure and still biting fairly well on small jigs. Catfish are active too, but mostly after dark on chicken liver, prawns, and mackerel.
