Alpine Lake, located in Marin County, was created through the construction of the Alpine Dam. It is one of seven reservoirs providing potable water for the Marin Municipal Water District. Alpine is most known for its warm-water bass fishery, harboring both largemouth and smallmouth. A few trout also inhabit the lake, though there's no official stocking program.
