Englebright Lake, situated in the foothills of Yuba and Nevada Counties, features 24 miles of winding shoreline and an elevation of around 500 feet. It offers an ideal location for boat-in camping, recreation, and of course, fishing.

Spring stands out as the best season for fishing at Englebright. Cooler water temperatures during this time keep away most recreational visitors and draw trout to the surface. During this time, the lake is stocked with rainbow trout that are typically 10-12 inches long. These stockers are recognized for their quick growth. Trolling with flasher/night crawler rigs can produce catches upwards of 16-18 inches and the occasional big brown trout. In autumn, trolling near the point where the South Fork Yuba meets the lake is especially productive.

Englebright Lake also offers decent smallmouth bass fishing, peaking in the late spring. Anglers often have luck targeting drop-offs close to any form of structure. Don't expect to catch anything enormous as most bass here don't grow over 2 pounds.

As the weather heats up in the summer, water skiing becomes a common activity on the lake. However, upstream of the demarcation line, where water skiing is prohibited, anglers can still find solitude.

Please note that there is not much access for shore fishing at Englebright Lake. To fully appreciate the fishing opportunities, a boat is necessary.
