This was a tough one for me but I think it was my fault for not adapting. Water temp was just over 60, and it was bright and sunny with some mixed cloud cover (I fished Thursday and Friday). Skunked on Thursday, but I put too much effort into top water (got one strike only). On Friday, slowly switched to finesse fishing throughout the day, and finally got a decent spotted on a Texas-rigged creature bait (Zoom Lizard) that I was slowly dragging on the bottom. Switched to dropshot at about 25 – 30 feet and got some bites, but couldn’t land them. Still new to this, so learning slowly, but I think I need to switch to weightless or wacky worm.

Kind of slow today. Trolled for maybe 2 hours at about 30 feet with a Rapala, rainbow. No luck. Switched to bass for about 3 hours and got one nice one on a whopper plopper. Tried bone color for several hours with only one strike, switched to crappie sized 90, and finally got one. Wind really picked up by midday, so I had to call it (fishing in a kayak).
Fished it on a kayak and had decent luck. Landed about six spotted, one on a nightcrawler, two on a rapala while trolling at 2 mph, and the rest (including a decent-sized fella) on bottom using a Z-man hula stickz with a ned rig. This was my first time using the Hula Stickz, and I am now a fan. A wonderful lake, will be back.
