Puddingstone Reservoir has been turning out some solid pre-spawn bass action for quality fish as of late. Local reports mention largemouth pushing 8 pounds being caught, along with plenty of solid 2-3 pounders. The bite has been best around laydowns and submerged structure. Dropshots and small swimbaits are catching quantity, but bigger glide baits, swimbaits, and even topwater spooks are pulling in the bigger fish. Trout fishing has been good with another CDFW landing last week. Most fish are stocker size, although a few 5+ pounders have been caught recently as well. Bluegill activity has been light, and no word on catfish.
