Lake Evans Fishing Overview

Water Description

Lake Evans sits at the north end of Riverside and is tailor-made for kayaks and canoes year round. The winter and spring seasons offer excellent trout fishing from both the shore and boat. Trout are consistently stocked during the cooler months. Do note, however, that motorized boats and inflatables are not allowed. Thanks to the amount of catfish added over the years, the lake's warm-season catfish fishery is top-notch, especially for catching larger fish. Now with water temps pushing into the 60s due to the recent warm weather, bass are shifting into prespawn mode and moving shallow. Largemouth in the 1 to 3 pound range are being caught on creature soft plastics, dropshots, and bluegill-pattern hard baits... with most action coming close to shore. Crappie are starting to bite as well (mini jigs, night crawlers), with some nice, larger male bluegill mixed in as well.
