Excellent Bass bite

Miramar had a quiet winter, with no reported trout stockings from CDFW or any other source. But bass season is here, and fish have moved fully into spawn mode. A lot of fish are still in prespawn… cruising and hunting the shoreline, with some holding off points in deeper water, but a good number are already on beds. Plenty of anglers are sight...

Miramar had a quiet winter, with no reported trout stockings from CDFW or any other source. But bass season is here, and fish have moved fully into spawn mode. A lot of fish are still in prespawn… cruising and hunting the shoreline, with some holding off points in deeper water, but a good number are already on beds.

Plenty of anglers are sight fishing the shoreline with T-rigged worms or small jigs... some good 2-3 pounders have come this way. Other folks chasing a bigger bite are throwing Beaver style baits into the tules, and hooking into some bigger females. Overall, fish are being picked up all over the lake, but the common thread is slow worked soft plastics. Not much reported success on reaction baits.
