Lake Miramar is heating up for bass action as fish transition into spring patterns and prep for spawn. Anglers are nailing chunky bass up to 3 pounds on swimbaits, jigs, and tube baits in shallow areas and the backs of coves. Others are finding fish around the side of points with dropshots and shakey heads. Most of the bite has been smaller males, but the bigger females should start moving up soon.

The last trout stock was in late February, but CDFW is set to drop another batch this week. Get after them fast—last time, they were fished out within a couple of weeks.
