Trout action at Lake Gregory is finally picking up after a slow start to the year. The last few weeks saw three plants—two from CDFW and one 1,000-pound load of Calaveras trout. Bait soakers are connecting on rainbow PowerBait and inflated nightcrawlers, while others are hooking the bigger Calaveras fish on spinners and Kastmasters. The bite should hold steady heading into the Trout Derby on April 19.
