Legg Lakes Fishing Overview
Water Description
Legg Lakes, located within the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area, features three lakes, with the southernmost being a favorite among anglers. The CDFW stocks trout during winter, but they typically disappear by late spring due to the lake's shallow depth and warmer temperatures. As the trout season ends, bass, catfish, and crappie fishing improves. The presence of stocked trout in largemouth bass water often leads to the growth of trophy-sized bass, and Legg Lakes is no exception. Double-digit giants lurk.
