Wishon is back open after the fire, and with it has come a fresh CDFW trout plant. Shore casters are reporting limits soaking garlic and chartreuse colored PowerBait. Trollers are pulling blade/crawler combos and Rapalas for bigger holdover trout, as well as the occasional brown trout. Water temps are dipping into the low 50s. The trout bite should stay good through the month… right up until the snow and ice close things for the season.
Wishon is still producing a solid rainbow trout bite since the last stock in mid August. Another DFW stock is scheduled for the week of Sept 22. Anglers are trolling Rapalas and spoons, while shore casters are soaking Powerbait and nightcrawlers near the dam. Mostly stocker-sized rainbows with the occasional brown trout mixed in.
