Chabot is delivering a very good trout bite lately, with quality Lassen rainbows in the 3-4 pound range (and bigger) being caught regularly. Anglers are getting them on a mix of spoons, jigs, PowerBait, and nightcrawlers. With water levels running high, bank fishing is a little tricky, but Marina Cove and Raccoon Point offer solid shoreline access spots.

Meanwhile, largemouth bass are starting to shake off winter and move into prespawn mode, easing into the shallows. While the bite isn’t wide open yet, swimbaits, blade baits, and drop-shots are starting to catch fish. As water temps rise, expect the bass action to heat up fast.

Catfish anglers are still finding a nice bite as well on cut bait.
