3 Tuna

Took my buddy Josh out on his first BFT trip. We had to wait in departure as the boat stayed out later on the trip before, trying to get the Anglers on more tuna. Can't hate on that. Took my buddy Josh out on his first BFT trip. We had to wait in departure as the boat stayed out later on the trip before, trying to get the Anglers on more tuna. Can't hate on that. We walked around the landings to kill time, in fisherman's landing, I saw a 420g HD West Coast Jiggerz in Silver and Black. I told Josh that the science says color doesn't matter when you fish deep and at night, color attracts the angler, but I admitted that jig was attracting me. LMAO. I told Josh, I have plenty of jigs, let's just head back. Boat arrived roughly at 10am. 7 BFT for 27 Anglers. Tough trip. Guys coming off said strong current and no one under 400g were getting bit because you scoped out fast. I ran to Fisherman's landing to grab that sexy 420g Black and Silver HD jig. Glad I did.
We arrived in the area around 930pm. Everyone was getting jiggy with it (Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na). Not until about 1030pm then the bites came. Each drift there was about 4 hook ups. 40 to 80 range bluefin. I hooked up and brought it my tuna in about 5 to 6 minutes. On my second hook up, I called for Josh, passed him the rod and he brought in his first tuna. I didn't record much of his fight because I was trying to hook and pass to another friend Hector. But I did get some footage of Josh eating that heart. Next day we fished for Rock fish and caught some reds, white and Salmon grouper. 2nd night was shorter as we had to head back in. Captain Steve asked us to stay a little later as well to try and get more fish aboard. We ended the trip with 19 bluefin for 26 Anglers.

Went out with some friends last minute trip. Right before bed time the wife asks, "Can I go?" I never turn her away. She's fished with me all the time. She then turns and looks at my daughter and says "I'm about to outfish these MoFo's!" Well we get to the lake. Slow day. Taught my wife how to use mini jigs. Set her up with the Berkley Powerbait...

Well we get to the lake. Slow day. Taught my wife how to use mini jigs. Set her up with the Berkley Powerbait Atomic Teaser.
She started casting and bam! Nice 7lber hit.

Also while we were there they planted Channel Catfish. 4 crates were planted. Not sure how much lbs are in each but it was 4 crates.
