Santa Ana River Lakes Fishing Report

Santa Ana River Lakes is known to be loaded with hefty trout and is typically stocked every Thursday during the season (latest coming Feb 6). Big Mt Lassen rainbows with rich pink meat are being caught all around the lake, and some true giants are mixed in.

Jigs and micro spoons are getting action and bait soakers are doing fine with PowerBait. But the real highlight lately has been inflated nightcrawlers, which have pulled in some tanks over 8 pounds. Catfish are still in play as well.

Went out with some friends last minute trip.
Right before bed time the wife asks, "Can I go?" I never turn her away. She's fished with me all the time. She then turns and looks at my daughter and says "I'm about to outfish these MoFo's!"
Well we get to the lake. Slow day. Taught my wife how to use mini jigs. Set her up with the Berkley Powerbait Atomic Teaser.
She started casting and bam! Nice 7lber hit.

Also while we were there they planted Channel Catfish. 4 crates were planted. Not sure how much lbs are in each but it was 4 crates.
