Located in the scenic Santa Cruz Mountains surrounded by lush redwoods, Loch Lomond is a pristine lake intentionally maintained for clarity. It's an excellent spot for fishing largemouth bass, trout, and sunfish. Bass are particularly abundant and act as the primary fishery. Located in the scenic Santa Cruz Mountains surrounded by lush redwoods, Loch Lomond is a pristine lake intentionally maintained for clarity. It's an excellent spot for fishing largemouth bass, trout, and sunfish.

Bass are particularly abundant and act as the primary fishery. They feed constantly on the stocker rainbow trout and grow quickly. As for trout, they are regularly stocked during the colder months, and provide a very good winter fishery, especially for trollers.

Loch Lomond offers various amenities such as picnic tables, a tackle shop, and boat rentals. However, private boats are not permitted. It's worth mentioning that parking is limited, so it's a good idea to head there early, especially on weekends.

Folks are casting dropshots, weightless Senkos, and other finesse setups with some success, but bites are few and far between. Folks are casting dropshots, weightless Senkos, and other finesse setups with some success, but bites are few and far between. Slow presentations are your best bet right now until water temps warm up. The last trout stock was in May 2024, so don't expect any trout action until this spring.
