Set in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, man-made Lexington Reservoir holds its own for bass fishing in the area... hosting solid numbers of both largemouth and spotted bass. The average largemouth caught is in the 1-2 pound range, but 5+ pounders are not uncommon. However, the bite can be unpredictable at times, often requiring experimentation with a variety of lures and colors.

Spring and fall are the best seasons for crappie fishing at Lexington. The lake is also home to catfish, carp, and bluegill.

While gas motors are prohibited, electric motors are allowed. Additionally, kayaks, canoes, and float tubes are permitted. Fees are applicable for both boat launching and day use.
