Contrasting reports are coming from the Feather. Some anglers say the shad and striper action is slowing down, while others note it's been spectacular. The assumption is that the truth lies somewhere in between. Fly anglers are also still finding some late-exiting spring steelhead on stoneflies.

The Lower Sac is cooling off for both shad and stripers. Shad can still be caught, but not for much longer. Your best bet is near the Rossmoor Bar. The best time for stripers is early morning and late evening, as boat traffic has really affected the bite midday.

Still a lot of small Kokanee around the lake. Trollers are targeting between 20-40 feet with orange hoochies or spinners. But for size you may need to look elsewhere.

Trout fishing continues to be good as the water clears. Trollers are getting surface bites early, then targeting 15-25ft by late morning. Shore-casters have also had success, especially those throwing nightcrawlers and powerbait.
