Chesbro’s firing out some good bass action right now, mostly for fish in the 1 to 3 pound class. Crankbaits are leading the charge, but don’t sleep on Senkos or soft plastics, especially when tossed into quieter pockets and coves. Catfish are active, with a few surprise bruisers bending rods last week. Crappie are acting fickle, but anglers are still getting into action around brush tossing minijigs or spoons. Even the smaller bass are nipping at spoons. Water temps are edging into the low 70s, and the lake’s still riding high for late spring.
