Pre-spawn females have been spotted cruising the shallows, and at least a couple of double-digit bass were caught out of Half Moon Cove on swimbaits. Now’s the time to throw something big for a pre-spawn giant.

The trout bite hasn’t disappointed either. Anglers have been limiting out using Rapalas, PowerBait, and inflated nightcrawlers, but the key is finding them deep—40 to 50 feet down. The lake just got another 1,500-pound trout stocking last week, and another load is coming the week of March 3rd. With over 13,000 pounds of Idaho trout stocked so far, the bite should stay solid through April.

Night fishing lit up the catfish bite on Saturday, with fish coming in from all over the lake. One angler landed a 10-pounder from a boat using mackerel.
