Feather River Fishing Report

Raith Heryford from RH Guide Service takes you on his recent Striper/Steelhead trip.

Contrasting reports are coming from the Feather. Some anglers say the shad and striper action is slowing down, while others note it's been spectacular. The assumption is that the truth lies somewhere in between. Fly anglers are also still finding some late-exiting spring steelhead on stoneflies.

Steelhead action has been slow, although striper action is picking up on the lower river. Mostly schoolies, nothing big. But if you find'em they'll bite. Another month or so, and this year's projected very good shad run should begin.
