Kokanee fishing at Whiskeytown Lake is nearing the end of the season. While you can still hit limits on most days, the kokanee are starting to show their pre-spawn colors. Spotted bass action is improving with a solid topwater bite on prop baits in the morning, followed by consistent action with drop shots and Senkos. A few 3-4 pounders have been caught this week. Rainbow trout were just stocked, so expect the trout bite to heat up here soon.
