It’s been quiet at Whiskeytown thanks to chilly temps and wind, but that’s about to change. Water’s still in the low 50s, but a warm spell with highs in the mid-70s is projected this week. Stripers are staging at Sherman Island, with fish stacking up on the north side, according to YouTube angler FishTherapy. At Knight’s Landing, stripers are holding in shallow areas near structure, ambushing bait and staying out of the main current. Live bait, cut bait, and swimbaits are getting grabs, but expect snags to be an issue. With flows dropping and water clearing, the bite should improve as fish push upriver in the coming weeks.
