The shallower bass action is off to a late start, as most fish remain deeper chasing schools of shad. Smaller shad color finesse baits (worms, dropshots, ned) and spoons are working for 1-2 pound fish. A few bass have moved shallow, and they seem to be the larger fish. Those numbers should increase quickly with the warming weather.
