Incredibly slow. I exclusively fish the public end. It's possible that fishing on the private side is more productive. Fishing the public end has been awful for months. Hemet picked up its second trout plant of the year on February 3rd, with roughly 4,000 pounds of Lassen rainbows dropped in, including a mix of lightning trout and a noticeable number of bigger fish. Bank anglers are scoring on PowerBait and floated nightcrawlers, while micro jig anglers working baits tight to the bottom are also doing well. Kayak anglers have been getting limits by slow-trolling spoons as early as they can get on the water (7am Fri–Sun, 8am Mon–Thurs). Water temps are in the high 40s, so bass action has been very quiet.
