Another late-season trout stock the week of June 9th has reinvigorated the trout bite. However, due to warming water and significant algae growth, these fish are seeking the deepest water possible. Bass action has reportedly been decent, with most bites coming on small soft-plastics and swimbaits.

For both trout and bass, the key has been locating areas with minimal algae. While algae levels are improving, a warning remains in effect. Folks are advised to avoid all water contact.

Hemet continues to receive big stocks of rainbow and lightning trout, with the latest just last week. Anglers are finding fish all around the lake (not just near the Marina). Cast in the deepest water with Powerbait or live worms. Although floating baits are also getting hit.

Trout action has still been good after the 4,000 lb plant in late February. Another big stock is lined up for March and April, which should keep anglers happy into spring.
