There is a cautionary algae bloom at Diamond Valley, which poses issues for recreational visitors but isn't too bad for bass anglers. The bass bite has been very hot, particularly for larger fish in the 5-8 pound range. The tinted water has created opportunities for trying reaction baits, as opposed to the usual clear water finesse approach. While drop-shotting and Senkos were effective before the bloom, louder lures such as crankbaits and spinnerbaits may now be the ticket until the water clears.
