Most fish are modest, around 1-2 pounds, but there are a few nicer fish in the 3-4 pound range mixed in. Dropshots, live minnows, chatterbaits, and flukes are all working. Crappie fishing is also picking up right now, with slabs moving shallow and actively hitting jigs and mini Rapalas.
If you’re struggling to nail bass or crappie, the carp bite is wide open, as they are in spawn, and can be seen jumping all around the lake—just toss out a kernel of corn and hang on for a wild fight. Trout fishing has quieted down with the last stocking over a month ago, but some are still picking off the occasional holdover.
