Lake Berryessa is loaded right now... both with fish and boat traffic. Trout are the headline, especially Eagle Lake strain rainbows that are lighting up and slow-trolled spoons in the top 25 feet. A recent net pen release of 2,000 pounds juiced the numbers, and it’s showing. Bass are hammering topwater along the banks as shad get pushed shallow...

Bass are hammering topwater along the banks as shad get pushed shallow. Largemouth, smallmouth, and spots are all in play, with early morning being best. Kokanee are starting to show deep off the east side near Big Island, and there’s the occasional king salmon mixed in for trollers working that zone.
Surface temps are sitting in the high 60s, and the lake’s at 96% capacity.
