Right now, the bite splits between two main patterns... rainbows pushing shallow to chase perch fry around the weed beds, and bigger fish holding deeper off the inlets. The North arm is producing in decent fish in 15ish feet, while Hilton and Sandy Point continue to give up the heaviest rainbows deeper.
Fly anglers are rotating between small streamers that mimic fry and midges, damselflies, and chironomids. Intermediate sink lines are key for covering both edges and deeper slots, with slower retrieves tight to weeds and strips in open water pockets drawing the best bites.
Trophy rainbows over 17 pounds have come from the inlets, and browns are also showing up more so with cooler nights.
