Downey Wilderness Park Lake Fishing Report

Came here for about 5 hours 11am-4pm. No bites, trout can be seen in the lake, but there was so many dead fish. It was very odd, but there was about 10-15 dead fish in the lake.

Fished here this morning for about 1 1/2 hrs. It was pretty active but managed to catch a decent size rainbow on powerbait.

Told plant occurred on Thursday Dec 18, 2025 and I went Friday around 9:30 am. Lots of anglers, most using Powerbait (which I did), quite a few mini-jiggers and a couple of Fly fishers. I think all types were catching. Finals used spoons. Colors that worked were mostly chartreuse and yellows, oranges. Pink didn’t do much.
